Divinity: Original Sin 2 – My latest RPG fix

Here I am again, immersing myself into the lore of a role-playing game. This time, Divinity: Original Sin 2. I’ve played the first one and finished it. It was one of the best RPGs of its kind. It’s reminiscent of Neverwinter Nights and Dragon Age: Origins. I figured I’m going to spend a lot of hours again on this one.

My main character

While I had the option of creating a totally new character, I opted to choose one of the origin characters. A friend of mine said it would be a waste of voice-acting if I didn’t. So I went with Ifan ben-Mezd, as a ranger. I always play ranged characters primarily, stealth characters secondary, and caster characters as a third options. I never play melee.

One of the funniest things I’ve encountered in the game is something that can be used very early on – a bucket for a helmet. Seems legit though, and it totally protects my head from direct force.

I took Fane as my companion, and I went for a dual lone wolf build – that means instead of the usual 4-member party, I opted for only 2 buffed up characters. Fane is an undead character, and I was really curious how his story will play out during the game, so I had him set up as my front man, tanking much of the damage. So far, the game plays and feels really good, and story is intriguing. I’ve already wasted a lot of hours into this and I think I’m on par to finish it by next week.
