After losing my last Famicom in my quest for skipping levels in Star Wars, my gaming hobbies were stifled a bit. This was the time when some of my classmates introduced me to the arcades. So to the arcades we went and games were a plenty. I was already familiar with the arcades years before this; our family would go to SM North Edsa as a stop over whenever we went to Laguna or back to Pampanga, and the arcades back then was conveniently placed in the food court area. Since my loving console is gone, I now have a new purpose for loose change other than tinkering with the light gun socket.

I’m A Gamer – My Famicom Years
I’ve been playing since I was in kindergarten, as far as I can remember. And my first console was the venerable Family Computer or Famicom. If my memory is to be trusted, the first game I ever played on this console was Elevator Action – no it’s not a porn game. The list of games I played back then was a tad extensive, probably not as extensive compared to other people I know. For nostalgia’s sake: Super Mario Bros. (who didn’t), Pac-Man, Mappy, Lode Runner, Goonies, Excite Bike, Adventure Island, Twin Bee, 1942, 1943, Balloon Fight, Double Dragon, Double Dribble, Contra, Donkey Kong, Duck Hunt, Star Wars, Top Gun, Spy vs. Spy, Popeye, Nuts & Milk, Mega Man… damn the list goes on, too many to mention. I was a really busy kid.
